Meet Your Mexico Beach: Mazunte, Oaxaca

Mexico. Come curious. Leave a little room for the unexpected.

You’ve always had a little wander in you.

The road you haven’t taken yet. The restaurant without much of a website. The beach someone mentions over dinner.

The little town that requires just enough effort to reach that—

“It’s a little harder to get there” sounds suspiciously like a double-dog dare.

You like freedom. You like discovery. You like places that haven’t polished away every interesting edge.

You also have considerably better judgment than you did twenty or thirty years ago.

Thankfully, several of those earlier adventures occurred before smartphones.

No proof. No admission. 😂

You haven’t become less adventurous.

You’ve become better at adventure.

You know what questions to ask. You appreciate good information. You understand that spontaneity and recklessness are

not the same thing. And you know that a comfortable bed, reliable transportation, and a little recovery time don't make an

adventure less authentic.

They make it possible to have another one tomorrow.

What can crowd it out

Waiting three hours for a room after a long flight. Repeating your preferences at every stop. Large places where nobody learns your name. Days so full you never see your hotel in daylight. “Luxury” so formal you can’t relax in it.

None of these is wrong; they simply leave this part of you less room.

It doesn't necessarily mean...

Luxury. A B&B host with a good memory can do it as well as a five-star suite.
Being fussed over. The best care is often quiet. You notice it because nothing needed asking.
Formality. Being looked after should feel warm, never stiff.
Staying in. An Indulgent Soul may happily paddle, hike or explore all day. The welcome is what’s waiting at the end of it.
Every trip. This part of you may lead one journey and sit quietly through the next.

Make It a Gentle Journey

Your vacation energy deserves the same thoughtful planning as your vacation budget.

Free-spirited doesn't mean unhinged.

And spontaneous doesn't have to mean unprepared.

We'll thoughtfully handle the things that protect your freedom:

reliable transportation, a comfortable place to stay, important

reservations, reputable providers, realistic transfer times, and the details

that would be considerably less charming to discover by accident.

Then?

We leave some blank spaces.

Because you don't need an itinerary informing you that Tuesday from

2:15–3:45 is your scheduled opportunity to wander whimsically.

You need enough structure that when someone tells you about something interesting over dinner, tomorrow has room to say:

“Why not?”

We'll also consider what each adventure asks of your body—terrain,

heat, walking, water conditions, accessibility, sensory needs,

transportation, hydration, and recovery time.

Not to decide what you can and can't do.

To give you the information you need to decide for yourself.

And if today's adventure asks a lot of you?

Tomorrow morning can stay gloriously empty.

Because respecting your body doesn't mean never asking it to do something adventurous.

It means giving it the preparation and recovery it needs to come

along for the fun.

Recovery isn't the opposite of adventure.

It's what lets you keep having them.

A Gentle Journey doesn't fence in your Free Spirit.

It builds the guardrails that give her room to wander.

Every destination has a personality. Every traveler has their own rhythm. We'll consider both.

Now Let's Make It Yours

Your quiz discovered something important about you.

You like leaving room for the unexpected.

But it did not book you a one-way ticket to chaos.

Because two Free Spirits can have completely different

definitions of freedom.

Maybe you want barefoot mornings, beautiful beaches, and very

little scheduled before dinner.

Maybe you're itching to explore.

Maybe food will lure you down every interesting road. Maybe nature will. Maybe you want to be active one day and horizontal the next.

And perhaps someone traveling with you prefers a little more

certainty than you do.

Both people are allowed on the vacation.

That's where I come in.

We'll talk about what makes you curious, what deserves your vacation energy, what information helps you feel confident saying yes—and which details we should handle ahead of time so you don't have to think about them once you're there.

Then we'll build enough structure underneath your trip that you have something wonderfully valuable left:

Room to change your mind.

Because the best plan for a Free Spirit isn't no plan at all.

It's a good plan with some blank spaces in it.
